Karen Griffin, PE, is Vice President of Hargrove Controls & Automation and Managing Member Representative of Tormod, a Hargrove company. She earned her Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from Auburn University in 2000.

Hargrove Controls & Automation provides multi-discipline automation services, deliveringturnkey solutions for digital transformation, DCS/PLC process controls, robotics, industrial IT/OT system integration, cybersecurity, panel fabrication, and safety-instrumented systems. Tormod provides lifecycle asset management and reliability services that help industrial clients improve long-term performance and maintainability of their facilities.

Upon graduating from Auburn, Karen began her career as a process control engineer in the pulp and paper industry. She entered automation consulting in 2006 and joined Hargrove in 2012, serving in leadership roles including Operations Leader, Engineering Leader, and Main Automation Contractor Program Sponsor across refining, oil & gas, chemicals, and pulp & paper industries.

Professional recognition includes the distinguished Charlie Bergman ‘Remember Me’ Award from the Control System Integrators Association (CSIA) and the Auburn University Chemical Engineering Outstanding Departmental Alumni Award from the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering.

Karen is Past Chair of both the Control System Integrators Association (CSIA) and the American Red Cross South Alabama Chapter. She has also served as a board member of the International Society of Automation (ISA) Emerald Coast Section. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Hargrove Foundation and on the Executive Advisory Committee for Engineering and Construction Contracting (ECC).

Residing in Spanish Fort, Alabama, Karen lives with her husband, Dustin, an officer in the U.S. Army, and their three children. She is active in her church and volunteers in the children’s ministry.
