Ken Averitte was recently appointed as the Vice President of Business Development for Cornerstone Industries, Inc., the nation’s largest single-source industrial flooring provider, and installer based in Brownsburg, IN. He previously served as the Director of Business Development for Closure Systems International, a global rigid packaging manufacturer with corporate offices in Indianapolis and Memphis, TN. Over the course of his 20+ year career, he has served in multiple engineering, operations, sales, and management roles in the consumer packaging, automotive, and pulp and paper industries.

Professionally, Ken has enjoyed a great deal of success in the areas of sales, business development, and operations management. As a global sales leader, Ken has landed and managed multiple large global commercial accounts that have improved each company’s overall profitability and led to continued growth. He closed on over $50 million in new business in his last 18 months alone at CSI and was awarded the “Commercial Leader of the Year” award for 2017. Ken was also instrumental in solving multiple complex problems and improving operating efficiency at his pulp and paper and automotive employers as an engineer and operations leader.

Ken formerly served as an independent consultant both for non-profit and for-profit organizations in the areas of strategy and program development, board development, and fundraising. While living and working in Baton Rouge, LA, Ken co-founded a non-profit organization that focused on youth drug prevention for middle school students. Ken is an ordained minister and has served as an assistant pastor, youth pastor, church administrator, and mentor for young men and boys. He is currently actively engaged in serving as the group leader and new member intake leader at his church in Zionsville, IN.

Ken currently resides in Zionsville, Indiana, near Indianapolis with his wife of 26 years, Tiffany, a 1995 Building Science graduate, and their two beautiful daughters, Sarah (20) and Hannah (8). Sarah is a sophomore at Hanover College in southern Indiana and is majoring in art and design and Hannah is a second grader majoring in sassiness and fun. Ken enjoys spending time with his family and friends, reading, and all things Auburn. Ken is a 1996 chemical engineering graduate from Auburn University with a specialization in pulp and paper science. He also holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and has continued his professional education through Penn State University.

Auburn University is a special place for Ken. Not only did he meet his lifelong partner but he also came to know Christ as a student. Ken was one of the co-founders of Ministries In Action (MIA), an on-campus ministry that focused on underserved African American students. He was also actively involved in the Baptist Student Union, NSBE, and was a tour guide for the admissions office.
