Alex Redden is a 2019 graduate of Auburn University with a BCHE in Chemical Engineering and a BS in Biochemistry. While at Auburn, Alex spent four years as a member of the Auburn University Marching Band, participated in the Society of Women Engineers, Tau Beta Pi, and was President of OXE. She was also fortunate to earn a Research Fellowship in Dr. Pantazes’s group. Alex also participated in a summer Co-op where she learned valuable skills in process engineering and root cause investigation.

Alex recently went back to Auburn and is working on her Master’s in Engineering Management with a concentration in Manufacturing. She is an Associate Pathways Engineer for Northrop Grumman participating in a three-year rotational program geared toward job exploration and leadership.

Upon graduating from Auburn, Alex moved to Baltimore, Maryland for her first rotation with Northrop Grumman working as a process engineer in the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL) as a PVD Process Engineer. In that role, Alex was responsible for pieces of metal deposition equipment and took on multiple projects related to process improvement and reliability. Alex was then relocated back to Alabama to work as a Continuous Improvement Engineer where she is currently leading a multifunctional team through a Black Belt Six Sigma project with an emphasis on process standardization and efficiency.

Alex is a member of the Society of Women Engineers and has had the incredible opportunity to attend the National Conference as both a student and a recruiter. Alex was nominated as a Young Alumni Representative to the Chemical Engineering Alumni Council in 2020.

Alex and her husband Jacob (also a Chemical Engineering Auburn Grad) are happily living in Huntsville, AL along with their two dogs, Stella and Lucy. They are both active members of their church and can be found either working cameras or as members of the worship band. They also enjoy home improvement projects and traveling to new places, whenever they get the chance.
