Chris Riley is the Development Manager for Perdido with Shell Exploration and Production Company in Houston, Texas. Perdido is the world’s deepest offshore oil drilling and production platform. Chris is an engineering manager with diverse energy industry expertise, with a majority of his career spent in upstream oil and gas at Shell. He is a student of leadership. He has a passion for taking on tough projects and developing the leaders of tomorrow.

His early career was spent in a variety of drilling roles of increasing responsibility, including experience in onshore and offshore operations, Arctic exploration, as well as shipyards around the world.  Chris has also worked on new play entries, acquisitions, as well as in corporate strategy and planning. Riley then transitioned to taking on a variety of asset management roles in the US and Canada, before being selected as the Development Manager for Perdido.

Riley graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University and also holds an MBA from Duke University. He serves as a member of the Chemical Engineering Alumni Council of Auburn University.  He is married and has two daughters.  When not helping to find the energy for tomorrow or chasing around his two daughters, he enjoys soccer, skiing, and scuba diving.
