Mike Templeton is the owner of Templeton Manufacturing Solutions, located in Jacksonville, Florida.
Templeton Manufacturing Solutions is a manufacturing consulting company that specializes in providing strategic and operational advisory services with specific expertise in strategy and business planning, business process & management system optimization, occupational & process safety, emergency preparations & management, and organizational/people development.
Mike has over 40 years of experience in managing, directing and leading all aspects of manufacturing operations including international experience. For 14 years, he served as the Vice President of Operations at Renessenz, LLC producing specialty flavor and fragrance ingredients at two manufacturing plants in Jacksonville, Florida and Colonels Island, Georgia. Prior to joining Renessenz, LLC, he served 10 years as the Plant Manager for Cytec Industries at its Willow Island, West Virginia plant, and also served as the Operations Director for the global polymer additives business unit within Cytec Industries, including operations in Rotterdam.
Other experiences include serving as Plant Manager for Reichhold Chemicals polyester resins plant in Jacksonville, Florida, and as Director of Manufacturing for Sylvachem’s tall oil fractionating and resin upgrading plants in Port St. Joe, Florida and Picayune, Mississippi. Mike’s first assignment after graduating from Auburn University in 1973 with a BS in Chemical Engineering was with Fiber Industries, Inc. in Shelby, North Carolina producing polyester fiber and associated textile products.
In addition to his manufacturing work, Mike has dedicated time to serving the industry and his community utilizing his manufacturing background. Most recently, he was appointed to the Dean’s Council at the University of North Florida’s Division of Continuing Education. He has been a member of the First Coast Manufacturers Association for over 14 years including 4 years as a Tri-Chairman. He was appointed to the Jacksonville Environmental Protection Board by the Mayor where he served for eight years including three years as Chairman. He was a founding Board Member for the Metro North Community Development Corporation, and he led a company Community Advisory Panel for manufacturers in the North Jacksonville community. Mike is married to Ellen (class of ’72) and has two sons and four grandchildren, all who reside in Jacksonville.
