Mike Rowland is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for O’Neal Industries, Inc. (“ONI”), a $2.5 billion metals service center company with more than 80 stocking locations around the world. He joined ONI as Treasurer in 2009 and took over as chief financial officer in February 2010. In that capacity, he is responsible for finance, accounting, treasury, legal, tax, internal audit, risk, and corporate services.

Mike was born in Utica, NY and grew up in Ormond Beach, FL. He graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1981 and worked in operations for Vulcan Chemicals until 1987. He received his Masters of Business Administration degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1989. From 1989 through 2008, he held various financial and management positions in investment banking and consulting, including co-managing a $180 million private equity fund for Harbert Management Corp. in Birmingham before joining ONI.

Throughout his career, Mike has been actively involved in community and professional organizations, including the Turnaround Management Association, the Association for Corporate Growth, the United Way of Central Alabama, Alabama Court Appointed Special Advocates, The Uptown Homeless Shelter/George Shinn Center, the Greater Carolinas United Way, Matthews (NC) Presbyterian Church, and the Mecklenburg County NC Guardian ad Litem Program. He is a graduate of both Leadership Birmingham and Leadership Charlotte and was honored as CFO of the year by the Birmingham Business Journal in 2011.

Mike and his wife, Stacy live in Homewood, AL. They have two adult daughters. Mike’s hobbies include cycling, restoring classic cars, and travel.
